Account & Payment Frequently Asked Questions
What if I only want to try Eventful?
You have 30 days to use Eventful free of charge. You can cancel at any time before that first 30
days and you will not be charged. We do not offer refunds after the first 30 days, nor do we offer
prorated refunds if your account is cancelled in the middle of a billing cycle.
Can I upgrade my account?
Yes! You can upgrade your account at any time and the advantages of your new subscription level
are available immediately. Just click on the "Account" tab at the top of any page within Eventful to manage your
company's account. There are never any upgrade or one-time fees.
Once I choose an account level, can I downgrade my account?
Of course, as long as you don't have any active events when you want to downgrade your account.
Downgrading during an active event isn't possible because of the impact on the number of attendees
per event, as well as a number of other functions within Eventful. More information can be found in the
Terms of Service.
Why can I only have a certain number of attendees per event?
Each subscription level allows a certain number of attendee registrations per event. However, you can purchase
blocks
of additional attendees for any event at any time. Attendees are purchased in blocks of 25, and are a
one-time purchase of $25 per event. (Charges for attendee blocks do not recur each month.) Let's look at a
simple example...
Suppose you have the Silver subscription level, giving you a base of 75 attendees for each event. For one
of your events, you need to allow 200 people to register, so you'd purchase 5 additional blocks of attendees
(1 block has 25 attendees), giving you a total of 200 attendees for your event.
What happens to my data I've entered into Eventful if I cancel my account?
As always, your data belongs to you. We continue to store your data for at least 90 days after account
cancellation, and you can request your data, formatted in XML, at anytime during that period.
What software do I need to use Eventful?
Eventful is a hosted service, so you don't have to install or manage anything. We take care of that for you.
All you need is an internet connection and web browser that supports JavaScript. Currently, we support
IE 6 and 7, as well as Firefox on PC, Safari and Firefox on the Mac, and Firefox on Linux. You'll also need
Adobe Acrobat
Reader to view PDF versions of the reports. Don't have Acrobat Reader?
Get it here.
To view the tutorial movies, you'll also need to install QuickTime, from Apple.
Do you accept payment options other than credit cards?
Yes. You have the option of allowing your attendees to request an invoice instead of paying by credit card.
How can my attendees pay to attend events?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Event managers can also allow attendees to request
invoices instead of paying online.
